A very nicely illustrated printing of Goldsmith's lament on social change and the destruction of the rural countryside. This copy has a gift inscription "given to Dear Mother", dated 1875 and another bit of holographic adornment, notably an earlier Christmas 1857 gift with "Cousin Eliza" executed in a highly decorative calligraphic style on a preliminary leaf.
