London: George Graves and John Harding, 1817. Enlarged edition. 11.75 X 18.75 We will be offering a number of original hand colored engravings from Curtis' FLORA LONDINENSIS. These are from the enlarged edition of 1817. The print measures 11.75 x 18.75 inches, with a plate mark of 10.25 x 18 inches. This is a hand colored engraving on high quality watermarked paper dated 1815 and made by W.Balston & Co. It is a beautiful decorative antique print expertly colored and beautifully composed. Curtis' work was the first study of British flora, and artists contributing to the opus included James Sowerby, Sydenham Teak Edwards, Francis Sansom and William Kilburn.
